I was very impressed with the Director of Marketing, Ms.Carol Davis’ eagerness to help me. She showed true southern hospitality along with the smiling residents who greeted me with warm smiles! Carol had no problem answering the questions I had about the community, Horizon Bay. Her responses were sincere and honest. I was definitely shocked when she showed me a model of a one bedroom apartment. I had envisioned a much smaller space and to my surprise it was much bigger than I anticipated. It was bigger than my own two bedroom apartment! It had two closets and two bathrooms! I was relieved to hear that a CNA is on duty every night and there are pull strings located in every room of the apartment which helps contact staff when needed.
I was extremely eager to learn about the community’s activities. Carol was nice enough to give me a calendar of events taking place at Horizon Bay this month. I learned that each month, the community has a different theme to look forward to. This month is cruising. The residents living at Horizon Bay can participate in many different activities ranging from casino to bingo night. It sounds to me like the residents have a lot of fun. They even have a Wii game console for residents to play!
There was a pleasant aroma and so much space in this senior retirement community. I couldn’t help but look around in amazement at all of the wide open rooms filled with chairs, books, and residents. The dining room looked fit for kings and queens. I was happy to hear that the residents were able to choose their own dining times. I also checked out the menu and to my surprise it was filled with delicious dishes ranging from oyster soup to a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich. Yummy!
