Tour Review of Emeritus Gainesville, Florida

As I stepped into Emeritus Gainesville, I was greeted by a pleasant aroma of cookies. I couldn’t help but bring myself back to a time when I was younger and I would wait impatiently as my mother baked a batch of homemade cookies. I was then welcomed by Tina Hilliard, Community Relations Director of Emeritus. She was very willing to help me and answered all of the questions I had about Emeritus Senior Retirement.

I watched immensely as she graciously toured me down the corridor and hallways of the assisted living facility tastefully decorated. Equipped with 100 apartments and the ability to house 110 residents, Emeritus is a very spacious and lively community. There wasn’t an apartment I had passed that was not occupied.

The one bedroom studio apartments come unfurnished so to allow residents to decorate the room to their liking. Of course, Emeritus Gainesville can furnish an apartment if needed. Each apartment comes equipped with a pull string emergency response system and there is a nurse on duty each night to accommodate residents in need.

Emeritus Gainesville own Transportation

Residents at Emeritus Gainesville do not need to have their own transportation when it comes to going places. Emeritus Gainesville offers a van that transports residents to their appointments as well as outings to the Oaks Mall, area churches and even Stein Mart! Activities for residents are based off each resident’s personal interests and needs whether that is more one on one interaction or a small group activity.

With February right around the corner, Tina informs me that there are social events planned around Heart Awareness Month. Clinical specialists from around Gainesville will be providing free in-services to the Emeritus Community about heart health and what they can do to stay healthy.

Dining at Emeritus of Gainesville seems to be a breeze with two convenient dining times per meal. Residents can choose to sleep in one day and catch a later breakfast if wanted or be the early bird. The menu comes with alternatives to the main dishes if a resident prefers something else. Accommodation is the key at Emeritus.

I couldn’t ask for a better location with Emeritus of Gainesville. With the Oaks Mall and North Florida Regional Medical Center conveniently less than a mile away, what else do you need? Well there’s morerestaurants, stores, and more fill the streets close to Emeritus of Gainesville. This place is worth touring!
